2024 Excellence in Integrative Health Award
Maryland University of Integrative Health
The Excellence in Integrative Health Award recognizes students who especially demonstrate academic, clinical, or research excellence; MUIH’s values; healing presence; a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; leadership within their program; engagement in professional activities within MUIH; or service to their fellow students, program, or the University. Faculty nominate and select the students in their program who best exemplify these qualities.

"In the category of service to fellow students within the Health Promotion Program and engagement in professional activities at MUIH, Ellen Rudolph has a passionate lifelong learner mindset and, throughout her master's program experience, has used her long experience in the field of complementary health to develop a multi-integrative health modalities health promotion program. She enriches the courses she is in by engaging her peers and faculty with in-depth discussion and a driving curiosity, thus contributing to community building and engagement both within her chosen program and in MUIH-wide educational opportunities."

Education
2022-2024
Master of Science in Health Promotion
Maryland University of Integrative Health
Online Program
I pursued my Master's degree in Health Promotion to build on my extensive prior experience in Integrative Health. The program equipped me with advanced knowledge in health behavior theories, needs assessment, program planning, implementation, evaluation, and research, enabling me to effectively design evidence-based health promotion interventions in the workplace, an organization, or community.
2008
Spa & Hospitality Management Certificate Program (150 hours)
University of California, Irvine
University Extension
Irvine, CA
As I conceived the launch of Life Cycle Health Center, an integrative oncology practice based on Chinese Medicine modalities, Bob Duggan, Co-Founder of Tai Sophia, the precursor of Maryland University of Integrative Health, encouraged me to take this program with Janice Gronvold at UC Irvine. With a curriculum focused on business, human resources, financial management, marketing and branding, it broadened my understanding and helped lay the groundwork for what it takes to establish and run a wellness center.
1972-1976
Bachelor of Arts in Photography and Japanese Studies
Hampshire College
Amherst, MA
Opened in 1970 as an experiment in alternative education, in association with Amherst, Smith, Mount Holyoke College, and the University of Massachusetts, Hampshire invites students to self-design their program of study, trains them to educate themselves throughout their lifetimes, emphasizes each student's curiosity and motivation, promotes learning among and across multiple disciplines, and fosters close mentoring relationships with teachers. I am a proud product of this progressive, evolving approach to higher education, which laid the groundwork for my non-linear career and commitment to promoting health and wellness. And deeply grateful.
